Outreach Teams

One of Dorothy Day House's initiatives that came about because of the COVID-19 crisis is our focus on Outreach and Engagement. As of 2019, there were 1,108 individuals living outside in Berkeley in encampments. In addition to distribution of sanitizer, masks, food and hygiene kits, the people living in these encampments are assisted by our street teams with access to housing, mental health services and COVID-19 related testing and health service referrals.
We have two outreach teams: the Mobile Outreach Service Team (MOST) and the Street Partnership Outreach Team (SPOT)
